They have no chance at all ... In addition to the obvious security concerns, there are strong doubts about their ability to create a jetliner that's up to Airbus or Boeing standards. Even if they did, the political obstacles would be insurmountable.
If you buy a Boeing plane, there are people all over the world who have spare parts and know how to fix it
But Boeing is stuck with the commitments that it negotiated with the union unless it can renegotiate them ... It was not required to agree to provide lifetime benefits to workers represented by the UAW but it agreed to do so and must live with its decision.
One imagines that Boeing's concern in making these desperate arguments is with having to pay lifetime health benefits to early retirees
I respect EADS' need for extra time to prepare a tanker bid, and hope the Department of Defense will allow this accommodation if the company chooses to compete ... My enthusiasm is tempered by the fact that the request for proposals remains the same and blatantly favors Boeing's smaller, less capable ai...
Obviously, we view that as a positive for the industry, for Boeing and for Spirit ... We will include that in our planning process and fully expect to be ready to support the customer's needs on both of those programs.
Boeing recognizes it must earn the tanker contract by providing the Air Force with a modern and capable tanker that meets or exceeds all warfighter requirements and is cost-effective to buy, own and operate
What Boeing is really communicating in Canada is they really ought to go to a competition for the next-generation fighter. Only in a competition will they get all the real facts and data and the real capabilities of the aircraft
The Il-96's operating economics have more in common with the KC-135's than with the Airbus and Boeing jets scheduled to replace the KC-135s.
the IL-96 meets every single one of the final RFP (request for proposal) requirements, and it comes in at a lower price (than Boeing), so if it's a fair competition, we win.
It's a slow recovery, and Boeing is moving forward cautiously
But Boeing is stuck with the commitments
the disclosure in a regulatory filing could see Continental become the U.S. launch customer for the delayed aircraft. Delta Air Lines, which inherited a 787 order through its takeover of Northwest Airlines, remains in talks with Boeing about its deal.
at this point in the cycle, the tailwinds for Boeing stock greatly outweigh the headwinds.
Boeing stock may be choppy in the near term, but longer term we believe a sustained rebound in the fundamentals will provide additional upside
We believe that the next move for Boeing in terms of commercial aircraft production is up ... As unlikely as this seemed just a few months ago, the strong rebound in commercial passenger and freight travel, the improving macro climate, the modest production increases this cycle and the strength of the c...

Boeing is picking up commercial market share in Asia and the Middle East, and believes that U.S. airlines will be back in the market to refresh aging fleets in 2011 and 2012. Despite some order deferrals and cancellations in the past year, the company has a robust order book, to fuel production for the ...
The Air Force laid out clear requirements and timelines and Boeing and America’s workers are ready to work to meet them
Dynamatic and Boeing are working towards having the first article ready for inspection by October 2010.
Boeing launched two game-changing airplanes (787 and 747-800) and maintained production rates during the worst downturn in airline history, and as light appears on the horizon, they are now emerging with arguably the most competitive mix of NextGen and NearGen platforms in their history.
DoD has welcomed our participation in the tanker competition ... EADS North America has demonstrated its ability to be a prime contractor and we feel a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the U.S. warfighter, to the taxpayer and the communities where we do business in the United States. We ha...
I'd rather book to fly on an Airbus or another Boeing model. I think it's quite normal for passengers to have this kind of reaction to such news
So far, no problems have been discovered on any of our Boeing 737 airplanes
