View Photo »To come back to a World Series two years in a row ... that right there is a major accomplishment
I hate the Yankees, but I'll be fair and give the Phillies two games. The Yankees have Mariano and the Phillies don't. The Yankees have A-Rod and the Phillies don't. And the Yankees always kill Pedro Martinez. The bottom line is if it's ninth inning and the Phillies are leading, Brad Lidge isn't getting...
If you’ve seen the Sistine Chapel and you see the amount of wealth amassed there . . . if they decide there is a time when they really want to use that for God and Jesus’ cause, they could spread that
Not that this should scare anybody in Philadelphia. But no team in the history of the modern save rule has won a World Series with a closer whose ERA (7.21), opponent batting average (.299) or WHIP (1.83) was as high as Brad Lidge's is this year.

Obviously, winning the World Series is the ultimate goal here and nothing is going to top that, and hopefully we can do it again

The command hasn't been there, and I think that sometimes you kind of fall into patterns that become super-predictable ... After Florida, when I thought about that outing in my mind, throwing that many sliders, that's never smart.
The good thing about our team is that our guys are very hungry ... We're confident. We haven't lost the desire to be great. I think you look around the clubhouse, a lot of guys on our team want to be compared to the Yankees or whoever -- teams that can put together a run of a couple years. It's incredib...
