When you look at the $1,400, divide that by nine months, that represents $38 a week, virtually spot on what Brendan Nelson and Malcolm Turnbull were arguing for the pensioner community.
And now we find out this morning, courtesy of a Glenn Milne article in the Daily Telegraph, that he opposed Brendan Nelson's proposal to increase the pension only a few weeks ago.
He opposed the pension in May this year. Now we find out this morning ... that he opposed (former opposition leader) Brendan Nelson's proposal to increase the pension only a few weeks ago. How can Australian pensioners trust him or believe anything he says?
And he is seen as less trustworthy, much more arrogant and less caring than both Mr Rudd and the former Liberal leader Brendan Nelson.
