What's important for us is Brian Ching's name was up there and we felt that he was a player we couldn't pass on. And we will try to bring him here. His experience, his quality, his savvy of scoring goals – and of course after hearing he basically didn't want to come that may take a little bit of time.
The Dynamo continued their undefeated preseason (for what that's worse) with a 2-0 victory over the Montreal Impact. This was the first MLS competition Houston has faced this preseason and it's fitting it was against Brian Ching and Le Impact. Colin Clar

What's important for us is Brian Ching's name was up there and we felt that he was a player we couldn't pass on. And we will try to bring him here. His experience, his quality, his savvy of scoring goals – and of course after hearing he basically didn't want to come that may take a little bit of time.
I'll be completely honest with you guys: I would have loved to finish my career in Houston, especially because they're opening up a brand new stadium there
I made an emotional decision at an emotional time and over the past few months, I have been able to reflect and I am here today to help the Impact win games ... It is a new team and one of the challenges is to get to know everybody as quickly as possible and to try and set a good example.
I have nothing against (Marsch), but I wouldn’t’ play for him
I've pretty much played with Dom pretty much my entire professional career
I feel like my home is here now ... This is where I want to be, with the Dynamo. I would want to play in the new stadium, and if I can't it would hurt a lot. But if they pick me I'll be at the new stadium as part of the front office, not as a player.
It stings anytime you lose because we’re proud guys and want to win the MLS Cup every year ... To get so close and fall short really stings, but we’re looking forward to next year getting into our new stadium.
That’s the thing about him. He’s not going to complain as long as he’s on the field
It's tough to say right now, but I'm happy for him
They played well ... They've been playing well all season. They were playing at home. It was a tough task. We knew it coming in. They came out and played the way they've been playing all season. Hats off to them. They handled the pressure well.
It would’ve been good for him to be out there but he wasn’t ... It’s unfortunate for us and fortunate for them. I think we missed him tonight.
I think Geoff has been playing out of position for a long time and you haven’t really seen him playing center back for very long ... Credit to him, I think that’s his best position, and credit to him for allowing us to use him in [the midfield], a position he wasn’t the most comfortable in in the beginn...
I don't think Dom gets enough credit for the amount of changes that this team has been through
I was part of the team for six years prior, went to the World Cup before (in ‘06, but didn’t play), was used a lot in the qualifying, and I came back and I thought I was healthy and playing well
The Galaxy are good at defending leads
I never really thought about it that way ... It's kind of cool, though.
I think it's pretty impressive we're back here in the final, especially with all the turnover we've had in the last two years ... We've had new leaders who came in and took on new roles, and we just keep moving forward.
At this point I want to play in a new stadium ... I want to play in Houston for another year and that’s as far as I’m looking right now. Maybe one more year. Maybe if I have a great year next year, maybe another year. But at this point probably one more year.
It’s a proud moment for me, the organization and the coaching staff to see some of these guys grow up
Especially this year because you get a little bit healthy and then you get hurt again ... The older you get, the harder it gets to run around especially in the Houston heat. You can’t work as hard as you want sometimes because of the weather. But it took a while. I had ups and downs. I think I’m pretty ...
We have five or six guys that feel they can score every single time on set pieces ... Not too many teams have five or six markers. I think that's why we have so much success on our set pieces.
I think that really prepared me, just in the sense that it allowed me to gain confidence in myself and learn that I needed that at the next level ... That’s probably one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned was just that confidence in myself and belief in myself that I gained over those two years p...
Nobody gave us a chance, we probably didn’t give ourselves a chance at the beginning of the year, to actually bring home the cup ... It was always our goal to make the playoffs and win the cup, but realistically at the beginning of the year if you’d said we’d be in the final with a chance to win it all,...
To see it grow to what it is now is pretty special
