With all of the attention on last night’s healthcare vote in the House, it’s important to note that the Democrats do not have a 40 vote cushion in the Senate – in fact, they do not have a one vote cushion
The National Republican Senatorial Committee believes Charlie Crist is the strongest candidate
Party leaders and committees and outside organizations can express their preferences, as the NRSC has done ... We believe Charlie Crist, who is pro-life, pro-Second Amendment and pro-family, represents Republicans’ best opportunity to keep this seat.
One thing is clear though – Harry Reid and his Democrat colleagues who decide to bow to pressure from the left and continue to rubber-stamp this liberal, partisan agenda of Washington-run health care and reckless government spending will be held accountable by voters next November
A primary reason Harry Reid is one of the most endangered incumbents facing re-election in either party next year is due to the fact that he is viewed by many of his constituents as a partisan bully
The Obama administration is doing everything it can to prop up Harry Reid's election numbers

This was always going to be a competitive election, but Alex Sink's decision to forgo the Senate race is clearly a big setback for state and national Democrats who have made this seat one of their top targets in 2010
Winning Senate seats is our priority ... We want to keep the Florida seat in the Republican column. The voters in Florida will be the ones who make the final decision there.

The DSCC is absolutely right about Harry Reid not being Tom Daschle. When John Thune got in the race, Daschle had a clear lead in the polls. In contrast, poll after poll has shown Harry Reid trailing not just one, but several, candidates who are arguably far less well known than John Thune was in South ...
The NRSC has not endorsed anyone in this race though and we believe that whomever the Republican nominee ultimately is, that individual will have the resources to run a competitive race against California's liberal junior Senator (Barbara Boxer)
