View Photo »We are surprised that it could not be replicated in India. The Logan is important for Renault’s future because it is the first product from us in this country
in the wake of the comments made by Carlos Ghosn, head of Renault and Nissan at the Tokyo Motor show last week, it appears that Nissan's foray into the Indian market will also be under review
We are surprised that it could not be replicated in India. The Logan is important for Renault’s future because it is the first product from us in this country
In his (Carlos Ghosn) replies to questions from some members of the Indian media, Ghosn's comments were related to the Renault-Nissan Alliance operations in India. Hence, it should not be construed to be referring only to Renault India operations. Ghosn stressed the importance of working with local part...
The excise duty is an issue in India but we need to continue to work on the Logan to adapt it to local tastes. We also need to do it quickly and with a good knowledge of what customers want
The only thing that has to be clarified for Renault is how to market and sell our products. This is not an issue with our partner, Nissan because its retail plan is in place. Renault is working on something and is clear about an exclusive identity in the form of showrooms, advertising campaigns and so o...

When General Motors was in danger, everybody was scared. We were scared. Because some of our suppliers are big suppliers of General Motors ... If they go down, we would not have been able to assemble any single car in the United States.

We think this technology is a technology we control, but we need scale. And that is why today we are building an overall capacity between Renault and Nissan of 500,000 cars and batteries a year that we are installing between the United States, Europe and Japan
The Renault-Nissan Alliance has committed to becoming a global leader in zero emissions ... Together, Nissan and Reliant Energy share the vision that electric vehicles offer the best solution to reducing CO2 emissions. Hopefully, we are going to move upward. Because it is not about one car, it is about four cars for Nissan and four cars for Renault.
The Renault-Nissan Alliance has committed to becoming a global leader in zero emissions
Renault-Nissan will follow this path while keeping separate identities. But we will keep together suppliers, engines and transmissions
Our major target is India but we will also export the car to many developing countries around India and also to Africa and South America
The cost of this car will be lower than any other car made today in India. You have to make a difference between the cost and the price
Growth [of car sales in India] is going to continue and is going to be very important for the years to come
I can tell you the cost of this car would be lower than any car today made in India
Renault-Nissan has 10 per cent of the worldwide market
As per the verbal agreement between both the companies, the design, engineering, sourcing and manufacturing of the proposed car will be handled by Bajaj Auto, while its branding, marketing and selling will be done by the Renault-Nissan
It is too early to say about price of the car, but its (overall running) cost will be lower than the cost of any other new car made in India today. It is not sufficient to launch the car on a low price only, but it also needs fuel efficiency. It will be a competitive product and very affordable.
We would like it to be the entry price point for Renault and also the industry. We are practically sure that the cost of the car will be lower than any car made in India.
