When we talk right now, me, coach (Byron Scott) and (general manager) Jeff Bower, it's all about what can we do with the guys we have ... I mean we have guys that are capable of doing anything anyone else does in this league. We've just got to find it. Every team has an identity, a style of play they ha...
One thing I understood coming over to the brand, it's a team ... I'm fortunate enough to be able to be in a spot with guys like Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Derek Jeter, all those guys. We all have a role to play. And I'm going to play the role that they signed me up for and hopefully I do the best I ca...
We understand it ... That was our second game every playing with our starting center. (Julian Wright) this is his first year starting. It’s going to be a work in progress and every game, we can learn different things and hopefully we can peak at the right time. We don’t want to peak now, it’s too early ...
I thought we stopped doing the things we were good at earlier in the season ... In the second half we tried individually to get back into the game. We didn't play as a group and Chris Paul picked us apart.
I'm in great shape, but I always come into camp in great shape ... That's all I've ever been able to do. Last summer, I was coming off (playing with) Team USA, so I didn't really get a break. I'm in great shape now. If we had a game today I'd be fine.
We talked through it ... I told him... you don't get to pick the NBA team you play on... Chris Paul went to the Hornets when they weren't good, now they're pretty good. ...You can have that impact on this program. I think it was just a matter of maturity.
As a rookie, it was to be Rookie of the Year, make the rookie All-Star game ... Then be an All Star, be first-team NBA, be All-Defense. I've done all that stuff. Going into this season none of that is my goal. My only goal is to win a championship.
Not a star, but like, a superstar. Something around, like, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, something like that.
Rajon has requested you not ask anything about Chris Paul now, tomorrow, or any other time
I had a tough first week and I can't be selfish and think about myself when I've got Mo Williams, Raymond Felton, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose ... I wouldn't be focused or fair to my team if I was thinking about myself and my contract right now.
I expect to see a hungry team ... I've seen the Hornets and Chris Paul enough to know that he's going to get those guys shots. He's going to be effective no matter what you do to him. I saw they missed 19 shots in a row against the Spurs, (and) I hated to see that because you know they'll want to be bet...
Like the Hornets' dimension, the way they play with Chris Paul ... He comes in the game and gets a lot of pick and rolls and gets into the gaps and gets everybody easy shots. That's the dimension I give.
But then once it settled in, I thought, okay, Chris Paul, David West, Peja, Byron Scott -- hey, this is a great situation.
Chris Paul enters his 5th season in the NBA; in many ways, the first section of his career has drawn to a close. A look at his record breaking first four seasons and what lies ahead.
I said, 'Look, if New Orleans had called and offered us Chris Paul, you'd be out of here. Thanks for your contributions. See ya later.' That's what I love about Steve [and Grant]. They know how this league works.
Derrick Rose is the next Chris Paul
Chris Paul is a great and just to be compared to him before I even play a game is kind of crazy to me ... I'm not even going to comment on that, but hopefully I can be as valuable to this team as he is to the Hornets.
That kid is special man, the way he sees the floor ... I think he has a chance to be just as good as Chris Paul, that's my honest opinion. I know that's saying a lot but I really believe that.
I suppose in your little scenarios Jonny Flynn is a bust and Al Jefferson gets traded back to the Celtics? Ha ha, very funny m*thaf*cka! Your team hasn’t been to the Conference Finals since 1970! You passed on Chris Paul and Deron Williams m*thaf*cka!
