Mike Richards is 24, the captain, and in a somewhat awkward spot (through no one’s fault), but an awkward spot nonetheless ... Kimmo Timonen was a captain in Nashville, Chris Pronger has been a captain in a couple places. The older players need to support Richards, even hold his hand a bit, so everyone ...
I think it's more taxing on players when it's in Europe ... And with the time difference I don't think it benefits the NHL all that much. But when it's in North America, like Salt Lake or Vancouver, we can get peak games on prime time and it shows off the sport.
I think there is a little period of adjustment because of guys we have added, particularly Chris Pronger and Ian Laperriere ... Mike is our captain and the leader of our team, but he has other guys around him the he can lean on a little bit more. I think we're going through that process a little bit. I ...

The fans in Edmonton are tired of stars either not wanting to come here or bolting, like Chris Pronger did after they got to the Stanley Cup final in 2006.
I'm very excited ... The fans are passionate about hockey. The style of play the Flyers play certainly fits mine. They've got some great young talent. I hope to help them win a Stanley Cup.
I sat down with (coach) John (Stevens) and (defensive assistant) Jack (McIlhargey) ... They just kind of reinforced what we want to do. And Chris Pronger has been a big help, too. He's always there if you want to pick his brain. He's sitting right beside me (in the locker room).
From the time I came into the league until now, I always enjoyed playing against the top players in the league ... That's how you continually get better, is to challenge yourself and try to shut down the opposing team's top lines and top players. You're not always going to do it. Sometimes they get you,...
Being from Chicago, I love the Blackhawks and guys like Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook, but I try and emulate my game around Chris Pronger -- a big, puck-moving defenseman ... I want to be one of those guys who are mean in front of the net and who opposing forwards are scared to come down on and play a...
I think (general manager) Paul Holmgren has done a great job with the team with bringing in Chris Pronger and Ray Emery -- I love those guys ... They have a shot to get to the promised land with those two pieces. It's going to be fun.
Being from Chicago, I love the Blackhawks and appreciate how Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook play the game, but I also try and emulate a guy like Chris Pronger -- a big, puck-moving defenseman
You're always trying to forge an identity with your hockey club ... To say we can replace Chris Pronger is incorrect. There's only one Chris Pronger in the league. Part of his makeup is his nastiness and his ability to be physical.

There's no way you replace a Chris Pronger ... There's only one.
In the West, there's a ton of teams that are better, the teams that played in the playoffs last year and the non-playoff teams are the teams that you've got to give a lot of respect to ... On the other side, Pittsburgh is an elite team. And in Philly, [Chris Pronger] is going to be making a big differen...
Mike Richards is our captain, there is no question about that ... Whether Chris Pronger has a letter or not is not going to change the way he plays and his approach to the locker room.
