Richmond's pretty much struggled for three months or so ... Tonight it wasn't that much different. He got balls up in the strike zone with two strikes and they hit them.
We needed Travis Snider to be here all year and for Lyle Overbay to have an offensive year like he did two years ago ... We needed Vernon Wells and Alex Rios to hit like 3-4 hitters. Vernon has tried things of late but they haven't worked. Rios probably would have had 20 homers and 80 RBIs had he stayed...
They pitch you a little different over here than they do in the National League ... He said, 'I'm noticing that,' and I said, 'You just have to have a plan.' That's all I said to him, and let him go.
I'd like to see him close it out ... It wasn't fatigue. He was still throwing the ball pretty hard. I just think he might have lost his concentration. I just want to remind him you have to go after (Cesar Izturis). You don't want to get to the other guys in that lineup. Make sure you make him hit the ba...
Bobby Bonds could steal 'em standing ... Outside of managing Rickey (Henderson), I've never seen anyone like Crawford.
They certainly have a lot more to lose than we do ... They have a chance to go to the playoffs and perhaps win the World Series. You can get a lot of guys hurt out there in that sort of ruckus, so you don't need that going on.
