View Photo »He's certainly been missed by players and fans. Everyone is looking forward to seeing him.
Nick Faldo, Seve, Ian Woosnam, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Monty (Colin Montgomerie) ... (Jose Maria) Olazabal was quite young but he was sort of part of that movement too. Those Europeans got me interested in the game.
It is great to hear the news that Tiger has set a date for his return ... He has certainly been missed by the players and fans and I am sure everyone is looking forward to seeing him at The Masters.
August is set to be a busy month for many of our Aberdeen ambassadors – Mhairi McKay will return to her native Scotland to compete in the Aberdeen Ladies Scottish Open, the Scottish amateur team will compete in the Home Internationals in Wales and Colin Montgomerie will also be making his Ryder Cup capt...
It just goes to show the huge wealth of exciting talent I now have at my disposal
That's probably not what Monty (Captain Colin Montgomerie) wants to hear, but not worrying about it is giving myself the best chance to make it. If I win two or three tournaments here in the States I'm going to be in the Ryder Cup. Easier said than done of course, but it's doable for me
This announcement is great news as we have been asking for this for a long time due to the fact it is difficult for young players to make the transition
Of course, playing in a third Ryder Cup is a big goal for me this year, and it's been good for Colin Montgomerie that many of the top players in Europe are playing so well, so soon in the new season
Putting my captain's hat on it was marvellous to see so many Europeans do so well, especially to have three players in the semi-finals ... I was delighted to see two Brits in the final and it was great to see Ian Poulter come through with a marvellous win and claim his first WGC title, especially in mat...
I was quite surprised because I was up against really tough competition — one of the people I was up against was my old employer, Peggy. When I was working for her I made my wedding cakes for John Terry and Colin Montgomerie.

With the hugely-talented Matteo Manassero and Rory McIlory in the field, it will be interesting to see how the youngsters fare against veterans like Mark O’Meara, Tom Watson and Colin Montgomerie.

I could have helped Colin Montgomerie. He just didn't seem to be able to get over that final hurdle. It's conceit on my part, but I've always felt that the stuff I do and the way I do it would have suited him.
Given that he was a captain's pick for the last Ryder Cup, I feel that he could have made more effort to be here, that he could have given a little more back
Look at the world rankings (where Kaymer is up to sixth and Poulter in the top 10 for the first time). The Europeans are pushing a lot of weight. It bodes well for the Ryder Cup. If some of the rookies can make the side and give Colin Montgomerie less of a headache, it will be a fun October.
I want to see guys who show guts and determination, guys who are maybe 2 or 3 down with four or five holes to play but who battle back to win
Sam Torrance is someone I'd like to talk to (about the Scottish Championship] as he is always an attraction in Scotland while Sandy Lyle and Colin Montgomerie will be getting invites, too. So will Martin Laird, who I understand might be trying to play in the Dunhill Links and it would be fantastic if we...
This is a great opportunity for all European players to show me, in a matchplay format, just exactly what they can do and I will be watching every shot hit
I used to feel like I didn't belong. But in Asia I played with Colin Montgomerie in Hong Kong, and when you start finishing up there regularly with the big names around you all the time, your confidence level grows.
It was great to see Luke finish second behind (American) Steve Stricker ... See, it's not just in Europe that I am watching.
Their support has been monumental from the outset and helped in creating real impact long before names like Tiger Woods, Ernie Els and Colin Montgomerie brought their famous presence to the city. We value their role and hold them in high esteem.
There will be nothing announced . . . until at least after the British Open (in July) . . . because I want to give everybody an opportunity to qualify for the team
I don't really have any thoughts, I was never going to have any thoughts at all. That's up to him and the American team and I wish them well.
I do think it will be diminished if he doesn't play [at the Ryder Cup in October] but at the same time that's up to him and America
