It's the least of my concerns ... I've won one before (2005). It's super-awesome and fun and nice, but I'd much rather get to the playoffs and pitch in the World Series.
Brad Penny has long been a pitcher of interest to us and we are thrilled to have him ... By teaming Brad with our Cy Young finalists Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright, in addition to Kyle Lohse, we feel that our pitching staff will continue to be a key cornerstone for the ballclub.

I didn't know too much about what the Cy Young Award was, but I knew he'd won it and it was in his living room ... I'd look at it every day and marvel at it.
That ball came off the bat at more than 100 miles an hour ... That's the clearest I've ever seen baseball seams on someone's body. His arm was starting to swell up, but he didn't come out of the game. I wanted him to get X-rays immediately, but he said, 'I'm fine.' He's not thinking about the Cy Young. ...
I do feel Greinke deserved the award ... He had an outstanding year. I know that his win (total) wasn't as good as some would like to see out of a Cy Young winner, but I believe that wins are not the most telling stat of how a pitcher performed.
I think he's going to be a Cy Young pitcher someday ... I hope this year.
Cy Young, to me, means who is the best pitcher, and to me, Zack is the best pitcher. Command, least amount of walks, ERA ... there are so many plusses
Verlander's just back to his Cy Young form ... He's throwing all three pitches for strikes.
When they say 'Cy Young,' ... to me, Cy Young means who was the best pitcher -- not thrower. And when I look at the other guys, I think Zack was more of a pitcher -- even though he's a power guy -- more than anybody.

Taking a break from our Danica Patrick-Yankee-Favre-a-thon, a pint-size pitcher from an non-Red Sox, Met, or Yankee farm team was charged with possession of maurijuana today........one moment I'm getting word from our producer.......a Cy Young winner?????..........The Giants? That's a football team, dum...
I thought about it and talked a little about with (pitching coach Rich Dubee), but not really because of where he's at ... Two years ago, he came off an injury and last year when he won the Cy Young he was just getting back. Plus, he has (265) innings and used a whole lot of energy. Plus, he's never don...
It's amazing ... It goes to show what the Indians knew. Unfortunately, they were afraid they were going to lose both for nothing, so they had to trade two Cy Young award winners. Unfortunately, some teams have to do that. I'm glad we got CC. It would have been nice to get Cliff Lee too.
He can only pitch every four or five days ... You want to go out there and score some runs of Pedro. Cliff Lee pitched really well tonight. When you face a Cy Young winner like that and he's on, you're not going to score many runs, and that was the case tonight.
I think he's a better pitcher now than he was when he won the Cy Young ... He's in a good situation. He's able to use all his pitches, mixing in his curveball more than he has in the past. I think he's a lot more mature.

We play the game to be in these kinds of situations ... I'd trade my Cy Young Award to be able to pitch in these kinds of games any day.
I almost despise that word ... A guy like Chris Carpenter, you could consider him an ace. He's done it year in, year out. He's the guy who is almost a perennial top-five Cy Young voting guy.
He is one of the best -- you don't win a Cy Young [in the American League in 2008] without having good stuff ... But if we have good at bats with the guys we have out there, one good swing of the bat can change a game.
Based on his single throw (which made it to the catcher in one hop) opening the current season, Obama has been deemed worthy of the American League's Cy Young Award for the 2009 season.
Well the Cubs didn't have Cy Young A and Cy Young B, they didn't have the best player in baseball, they didn't have Matt Holiday, they didn't have Mark DeRosa.
The four years I sat there with Felipe, I watched this guy win a Cy Young Award with 17 wins ... He has know-how and he has moxie. From the standpoint of power, you don't have to sit here and feel like he is going to overwhelm you with his fastball. To sit here and say he's a big-time strikeout pitcher,...
