It’s eating me up inside. I can’t handle it any more. ... It’s embarrassing, I think. It’s embarrassing that the fans come to watch us and we’re just playing so defensive. Pontius curled a left-footer past the diving Milos Kocic in the 55th minute, and Salihi scored in the 75th after Toronto failed to c...
Jo and Lianne are amazing soccer players, and huge personalities in the women's game ... They both could have played anywhere, and I think their choice to come play in the W-League and with D.C. United Women is a major statement that the best players still come to America to shine.
He played phenomenal today, absolutely outstanding in that position ... Normally you can say Dax's strength is from the halfway line in the attacking game, not defending in front of two center backs. But we said after [the loss to D.C. United] we just need to protect the center backs better from crosses...
Just having a name that people recognize in the soccer community is very helpful ... I think a lot of the problem with the women’s game is that maybe we’re not getting our name out there enough, so when you pair up with a D.C. United or a Seattle Sounders, people know who they are, so I just hope it hel...
When I played for D.C. United in 2010, we were bad and people stopped coming to games. And the ones who were there would boo us off the field
Ladies and gentlemen, the electrifying D.C. United attack.

Obviously disappointed with the final score. We brought us back into the game twice but then we got a little bit careless in possession and [D.C. United] was going for it offensively.
Disappointed, we fought back to get back into the game twice. We aren’t helping ourselves by giving up some poor goals, but on the other side we are scoring goals on the road, which is a good thing. [D.C. United] just scored one more goal than us.
They can thrill and frustrate in equal measure. Thierry Henry and Kenny Cooper have smashed in 15 goals between them in just seven games, but as we saw in the 4-1 defeat at DC United last week, their injury-hit defense is very brittle. Whichever Red Bulls team decides to turn up, there should be goals.
In terms of defending, we gave [the goals] away. [D.C. United] didn’t need to work for them. I would be very happy if we could get those kinds of goals in our attacking game. Of course, when you are three down, it’s a long way, but I think we responded quite okay in the second half, but normally a game ...
I had the opportunity to watch a lot of Red Bull games against D.C. United ... They've always been hard-fought. There's always a little extra something in every game, so it's going to be really fun to actually be a part of it.
I think we were flat at the start of the second half, for whatever reason, and I think [D.C. United] came out with more energy. They probably weren’t happy with the way their first half went. But we came out flat, and that could’ve cost us the game early in the second half. We are still moving ourselves...

Our philosophy has been that a rising tide lifts all boats and as the sport of soccer becomes more popular in the U.S. and Canada, it’s only going to benefit Major League Soccer ... They complement each other. We encourage fans to watch Manchester United play Fulham, then go out and see D.C. United and ...
We just have to match their intensity and get our crowd into it ... If they keep the crowd out of it like the last (home game against D.C. United), it will be hard for us to go on adrenalin alone.
He's got great instincts going forward. He reminds me a little of [D.C. United's] Andy Najar, when I was [head coach] in D.C.
Being able to play at the Maryland SoccerPlex in front of a home crowd is amazing ... D.C. United Women has created such a great atmosphere for women’s soccer there and we couldn’t ask for a better experience.
I had a D.C. United flag flow on an A-10c (from Baltimore) on a combat mission

D.C. United certainly played well and made it difficult for us ... I know they’ve had a couple of difficult results and were certainly up for the game and worked hard for their point. A couple of times in each half we got our momentum going and we looked quite dangerous, but we didn’t get enough of that...
I think any of the successful teams over the years -- look at D.C. United, look at our Galaxy teams [in the league's early years], Houston/San Jose for a while -- these are teams that spent a lot of time together. It's definitely part of the key to enduring success.
