They've got an explosive offense that leads the conference in several offensive categories ... I believe their quarterback [Ryan Mallett] is the best passing quarterback we have faced so far. They, as a team, do the little things right, which helps you win football games.
There’s no emphasis on Dan Mullen ... There’s no issue at all with the coaches. There’s respect, but there’s no issue at all. There’s no, ‘Let’s go beat Dan Mullen.’ We don’t do that.
We're going to have to keep them [Alabama] off-balance ... Also, we've got to focus on winning one-on-one matchups. If they load the box, that leaves our receivers one-on-one so we will have to make plays to our receivers to loosen them up.
Most of our kids are from Mississippi or Alabama
They're just loaded with NFL talent from top to bottom ... They play very hard, aggressive defense and they're a very physical team. I thought they showed the balance they've had (against LSU) by throwing the football. Mostly you see they've gotten by just pounding people away and pounding people with t...
They’ve given up a bunch of yards to Florida, Auburn and Alabama, but the other games, they’ve held their own in the run game
We will, as a team, continue to try and improve ... We have a tough opponent with Kentucky. They’re coming off two big wins, and they’ve been successful over the last couple of years. They’ve got talented players in (Derrick) Locke and (Randall) Cobb. Cobb causes matchup issues for us, because he is a w...
That's done with ... We're moving on to Kentucky.
I don't even know why we have replay right now in the Southeastern Conference if they're not going to utilize it
I know the system and the offense ... I'll help our defensive coaches with what they're trying to do, with what Florida is running on offense. But I don't think it's a huge advantage.
It's going to be a game that we need every single player on our team to play great ... We need every single fan to give everything we have. We need the whole state of Mississippi to show up and make it the most hostile environment we can. That's what we need.
We're going to need great crowd support for this weekend ... This is the game of the year in the state of Mississippi, and we're expecting to have the whole state behind us to help us win this football game.
And I hope that helps us in recruiting even in the future, that young kids know that 'If I go to Mississippi State, I'm going to get on the field. I'm not going sit around and have to wait a couple of years to get on the field.'
This is a unique challenge for us ... Houston is coming off a tough loss, but the week before, everyone was saying they should be a Top 10 team. They still have the same potential.
This is a great deal for Mississippi State football as we move to the future ... We want to play as many games in this region as possible so our fans have the opportunity to attend and our recruits have the opportunity to see us play.
There’s a lot of talented football players here in the state of Mississippi
I think we're very different this year ... Coming in, I think a lot more is looking at what they did to stop Florida last year because we're kind of more that offensive system.
That's not Mississippi State defense
