They almost won it for Pakistan
When your captain is not strong or is young you need a coach. But Daniel Vettori is exceptional, just like Stephen Fleming was before him
For us to come over here and win as confidently as we did in the last two games is something I know a lot of the guys will cherish. The wickets and the atmosphere are very similar to Pakistan - there's a lot of support for Pakistan here and it's like a Pakistan home game
In the absence of AB de Villiers and Daniel Vettori, we know that we have to take more responsibility on our shoulders. All we can do is to try and turn it around in the next match.
It's something we've definitely recognised but if you look at the actual line-up there's some real match-winners with the likes of Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor, and Scott Styris brings a lot of experience ... So, while we don't have the rankings we'd like, I'd still back those guys to come in and do...
England captain Andrew Strauss recalling Angelo Mathews and New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori withdrawing the run-out appeal against Paul Collingwood reflect the magnificent spirit in which the matches were played.
We look for more improvement and make sure that we head into this final game with more confidence and put more pressure on Pakistan
You cannot afford to be complacent against any side. We should not have lost to a weak team like New Zealand which had so many injury problems and they have only one world class performer in Daniel Vettori
The partnership between McCullum and Guptill set up the victory for us, enabled us to achieve a 300-plus total and put pressure on Pakistan

I think we wanted to improve on some key areas, made a conscious effort and it's pleasing that we were able to turn around in a couple of days; now we must keep the pressure on Pakistan
Losing Daniel Vettori before the toss today was a huge blow
Afridi has got to another level as a bowler and the partnership he is forming with Ajmal is the real key to Pakistan's success
Ive got to applaud Daniel Vettori ... I think it was the right decision, but it was obviously a tough decision to make as a captain when your future in the tournament is on the line.
We just didn’t execute as well as we could have. Afridi came in, and followed by Kamran Akmal (67 not out), played some really good cricket
I've got to applaud Daniel Vettori ... I think it was the right decision, but it was obviously a tough decision to make as a captain when your future in the tournament is on the line.
I think inconsistency probably plagues both the teams. There are some really talented players in both the sides who can win games but how often are we consistently doing that? ... We know we're going to battle hard against Pakistan and we need those key players to step up to either win games or nullify ...
Our pace attack in South Africa was pretty good with Shane Bond and Kyle Mills doing a fantastic job. Pakistan too have some good bowlers in Umar Gul and Mohammad Aamir. They are quality bowlers and particularly Aamir is really impressive. He is a real good prospect for Pakistan

If anything it's exciting to get out of New Zealand, get away from the scrutiny for a little bit, and come here and do what we do best
I look at John Wright ... There's no reason we can't utilise his skills. Not necessarily in a head coaching role, but it would almost be remiss of us not to tap into his knowledge.
Aaron Redmond made a strong case for his inclusion with confident performances at the World Twenty20 and Champions Trophy
