Langer's played very well lately
As much as we all admire Wayne Gretzky, the team appeared on many nights to be missing structure, and from the outside, looked like a team that never really built an identity ... Dave Tippett will bring structure to the group and will be wonderful at helping to create an identity within the group that w...
It's not like I had been out of the game for a couple of years. I was in Dallas just last season
We've started that pack mentality ... Everybody pulls together and everybody's in there for their teammates. If you make a mistake, somebody's going to bail you out, or vice versa. It's the strength of five that are on the ice, that's sort of what (coach Dave Tippett) wants and what he emphasizes.
He was alright. I thought he was pretty good last night (against Colorado) too ... He sat and watched a couple games, and hopefully that helped him get some urgency in his game. I’d like to see him now with that first one behind him now, get going and start producing for us.
I met with Dave Tippett and Peter Laviolette
They have the ability to dictate games, so how you play against them as a group can say a lot about your play and how you’re going to play together ... I'm sure the people in Pittsburgh didn't like that they were on the penalty-kill for 7 1/2 minutes in the first period, but I thought that our speed and our competitiveness drew some of those penalties

I thought our speed and competitiveness drew some of the penalties ... We really fed off the energy of playing against the Stanley Cup champions.
There's a lot of off-ice situations we can't control ... What we're going to do is concentrate on what we have to do on the ice to earn the right to be a playoff team and earn the right to compete for the Stanley Cup. That's what we're all in the business for, and we look forward to that challenge.
We're going to have be a team ... I call it a 'pack mentality,' where everybody's gonna have to pull their weight ... As good as Shane Doan's numbers were last year, if you look at the next guy in the scoring standings (27 points away), if he's that far down this year, we're not going to be good enough....
