Our car got better and better as the race went on ... We were racing hard there at the end (as he tried to get by Denny Hamlin on the last lap). This team has really come on. 
I'd be mad. If it was Denny [Hamlin, Busch's own teammate] doing that behind me, then I'd be pretty upset because he was a little overaggressive in trying to bump-draft.
If someone asked me what our chances are to win here, I'd say they're as good as anybody ... We could have won both races here last year. We finished second in both of them. The 07 [Clint Bowyer] had us covered in the fall, but [in July] the 11 [Denny Hamlin] beat us to the line by a door.
Clint dominated all night and he was just a little bit free on that last run ... Because of the caution and my guys doing such a great stop I got to him and that's what did it for us today. I was driving my guts out there and everybody was. Denny (Hamlin) came up there and he was real fast and Scott Wimmer and everybody. You know, Clint had a great car obviously but he got a little loose at the end and that's just what we needed.
I said the exact same thing Denny Hamlin said two weeks ago word for word. 'We don't deserve a Chase spot,' because we weren't running good enough to get it. We just weren't. We were just going to take up space ... take up oxygen being one of the 12 and that's exactly how I felt the last two years
The guys like Bowyer and Kahne and Denny Hamlin and those guys are going to be fast and it’s going to be the same thing for them ... They can’t have many mistakes. I think the car in the next two weeks that clicks off two top-five finishes, or two top-10 finishes, (is) going to be in the Chase and someone’s going to have that bad race or a tough-luck deal, getting caught in the pits on a green flag stop or something kind of freakish like that, and find themselves on the outside.
I'm pretty happy with [the day], it was pretty uneventful from our side and we didn't have any big dramas in the race ... The red [flag] there at the end kind of killed us but I'm really happy with the day. I'm proud of Kyle and how he ran, and I saw behind us that Denny [Hamlin, teammate who finished eighth] was having a good day, too, so I'm really proud of the whole organization. It was a good day for us.
I'm just proud of my race team, and we're doing the right things ... I'm impressed with Mark and the speed that he and DEI are showing. And once we get into this race, Kasey Kahne is going to be a factor, so is Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, and a bunch of other guys, and it's going to be a good race.
