Scribbletone, assuming Derrek Lee waives his NTC to go to San Fran and assuming San Fran agrees to pay for the remainder of D-Lee's contract. Both are highly unlikely. The 2009 Cubs will have Derrek Lee at 1B.
Derrek Lee loves Chicago and enjoys playing for a first place team, and he will not void his no trade clause. Try something else.
I guess the reason I haven't thought about it is because I take it for granted. I got so used to our guys making plays that I probably overlooked a lot of the stuff they did. I appreciated it, but with Mike Lowell, Derrek Lee, Alex Gonzalez, Juan Pierre, I expected it.
We got one of our main men back. Anytime you get one of your main men back, that's a tremendous lift. We'll get another main man back [with Prior] and another main man back [with Wade Miller] and then the main man back in [Derrek Lee]. When those main men are here, you have a great chance to win, even before the game starts. That adds a whole bunch of confidence to the team.
