View Photo »When I got the word two days ago from [Mercury GM] Ann Meyers, I was shocked. I felt like a little kid again ... I've gotten a lot of awards in my career, but this one truly means a lot, especially after my summer of ups and downs. I got to see the people who truly had my back.
I'm just hoping Tina can lead this time by playing hard ... You don't have to call team meetings if you are a captain. Not everyone is Renee Montgomery or Diana Taurasi. Some people can get it done differently.
I am deeply sorry and embarrassed for causing this distraction for my teammates, the Phoenix Mercury, the WNBA, family and fans ... While I cannot say more with regards to the specifics of the case, I do want to make sure that everyone knows how much I appreciate their support and that I've learned a va...
Do not underestimate Diana Taurasi ever ... For my job, it's to play defense on D.T. (Taurasi). I give her props, and it's a hard job. ... She is going to look at both these tapes and be ready for Game 3.
