The sheer volume of capable players the Packers had at the linebacker position in 2011 was a plus. The number of high-impact players, however, was not. Linebackers are the game-changers in a 3-4 scheme, and while the Packers were able to overcome various

Obviously our first objective is to look at what we have and find ways to get more pressure with the guys that we have ... When the time comes in terms of adding people, we'll certainly address that. The defensive line figures to be an area of the team the Packers would like to address in the draft and, possibly, in free agency, too. Otherwise, the Packers are confronted by several questions, especially at the two end positions: Can Mike Neal stay he
Look, the Packers had a solid defense last year but they didn’t perform up to par. They gave up too many big plays and didn’t get enough pressure on the opposing quarterbacks. All things considered, they did have a good year and most of their success was
The Green Bay Packers are looking for a couple things in the 2012 NFL Draft to help improve their roster heading into next year. First, they could definitely use some help rushing the passer. They need to find a DE that can rush the passer in a 3-4 schem

It just gives you such positive momentum going in because you've got one that you weren't counting on
You look at all these offenses that can spread you out, it becomes a matchup game ... So, it becomes more of a basketball game on grass, and you've got to be able to match up. So I think speed is one of the premiums, even more so today than it's ever been on defense.
It’s going to be one of the main issues. That area fell off. We’ve got to get those sack numbers and pressures back up
We’re very disappointed in the way we played
We’ll have to wait and see what Nick’s status is. Right now, I don’t have any idea
When you give up big plays, it’s going to end up on the scoreboard and that’s been the case too much this year ... When we come back here in a couple of weeks, we’re going to evaluate everything top to bottom to get back to where we were the previous two seasons.
With where our game is, it probably jumps out at you this year. You look at all of those offenses that can spread you out, it becomes more of a basketball game on grass and you have to be able to match up. Speed is more important than it ever has been
Eli doesn't move to run, but he moves to buy time for those receivers ... They do a good job of adjusting their routes. I've seen him move — he moves more to his right than he does his left — but he can move and still throw the ball with some accuracy. I think he's doing a better job with that.
I think our defensive guys are excited about the opportunity ... I think we know what we've got to do. We're facing an offense that's hitting on all cylinders. They did a really nice job against the Falcons last week so they come in with momentum.
It was a pretty clean game in us not hurting ourselves ... We felt it was going to be that kind of game going in. We knew it was going to be a tough, hard-fought game. They put up a lot of points at home. Even when people got big leads on them, they were able to come back. We certainly didn't want to he...
Those balls that are thrown up, what he does, the quarterback can be a little bit off because (Johnson) is kind of the great equalizer in terms of wingspan and being able to go up and get the ball ... It's double tough when you get down in the red area. There are quick throws down there. A lot of back-s...
If they can still mix it and keep you unbalanced, it makes it a little bit harder
There are times you have to be able to rush four and win. If you have to depend on scheme, you’re not going to be a very good team.
You don’t have to look very far to see how explosive they are ... They’ve had games where they started off slow, but it doesn’t make any difference. You’ve got to play for 60 minutes against these guys and you have to understand the big-play capability they have.
It has to do that to a certain degree. If we had to play out there today with the way the wind is, we’d have to have alternative plans ... You never know what you’re going to run into.
We’ve had a good week of practice. This game is about having confidence ... This is what I tell our guys: If it works, you’re going to keep getting it.
He’s a big, physical, downhill guy ... What do we have to take away, and that changes every week? Last week, you didn’t have to be a Rhodes Scholar to know you had to take away (Adrian) Peterson and (Percy) Harvin.
