View Photo »I’m a striker and I know how it is
CenturyLink Field will be rocking on Saturday afternoon to the tune of 38,000 raucous Sounders fans. They create an atmosphere like no other in MLS and the Sounders have so many attacking threats. Strikers Fredy Montero and Eddie Johnson are a real handful in attack, and I don't think there is a more sk...
It was just me trying to get in between the two center backs ... I knew Mauro was in a position where he was either going to beat the guy or cross the ball. It was a perfect cross, I just wanted to get my head on it and redirect it. The pace was already with the ball, and it was just a great ball by Mau...
We're going to stick with it. I don't think it's going to be the last time you see us play a game where both Eddie Johnson and [Fredy] Montero score in the same game. I think this is the first of a few that are going to go that way.
I’m new to this rivalry, but rivalry games are always big ... Sometimes you try not to get caught up in the hype, the pressure, so much, and try to just be yourself. But at the same time, within the team and our fans (expectations) are high when we play these big games.
He is a good player ... Any time you give goalscorers the opportunity to strike the ball ... he did it well. As a 'keeper, I feel like I can get everything, I'd like to have it back just so I could try again. Heck of a goal — good spot and good placement ... same with [Eddie Johnson's goal]; any time yo...
I'll never forget where I come from and I know I was very lucky ... If there's any advice I can give to the younger people that have dreams in soccer — or whatever profession it is — I always try to share some of my experiences.
Happy to see Montero get his first goal ... He chose a difficult one, rather than an easy one. But that’s probably a goal-of-the-week winner – if not, a candidate for sure, but I think a winner. And again, Eddie Johnson, I think you’re starting to see now what he can provide for our team running up fron...
I sincerely apologize to the Chicago fans, my teammates, MLS, and the Sounders' supporters for my actions and poor judgment I used on Saturday
I think we probably have to have a little bit of rotation for our team, especially with Johansson and Rosales coming back from injuries, because they’re not going to be able to play a Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday type of sequence of games ... Same thing probably with Eddie Johnson. We have to look at our...
Not only is it Fredy that teams have to watch out for, or myself, but David Estrada is on fire ... Whenever you can get different personnel scoring on the team it says a lot about the depth of the team and the strength of the team.
For him, it's just a matter getting his timing [so] that he's able to train everyday... That helps his timing ... The best Eddie Johnson we're going to see is going to be around the middle of May. As long as he continues to train, his timing, his game intuition and fitness will come at that point.
Whenever you can get different personnel scoring on the team it says a lot about the depth of the team and the strength of the team.
I think the older you get as a player, the more you understand your body ... I'm not 21 or 22 anymore.
Maybe the second one was the worse one ... But once you have the first one you’re at a heightened risk to get more. That’s the problem with me continuing to play. I’m at a higher risk of getting one every time I get hit in the head.
Obviously I didn’t come to it lightly
At the worst they were pretty unbearable ... I was stuck indoors with the lights off, not enjoying life.
I was like a kid in a candy store
I desperately want to play
All we can really do is win
I've been really trying to understand the players around me and learning how they play, where they like to play the ball and where they like the ball, and I think it's going well
Handle biz for me is putting in that work on the field all throughout the week ... When I make a play and get a touchdown, I just handled some biz, and now I'm going to have fun.
If he (Schmid) believes in me, it's easier for me to believe in myself at this point in my career
The first six months for me was a difficult time to go through, coming to the best league in the world where I'm coming off the offseason in MLS and they're halfway through their season
I don’t feel like I need to win over the fans
