Edgar (Prado) and I have been friends for years, he didn't have a mount in the race and said he would ride Rouse the Cat ... We're delighted. He's a very good rider, in fact one of the best.

I think Barbaro definitely sped up my induction ... I think people who know Edgar Prado also know about Barbaro. Absolutely, he has a lot to do with this.
Kent was never my pick to begin with ... That was Mike Iavarone's move. My pick was always Edgar Prado. Edgar's my man.
The surface is much sandier here at Hanshin ... We would have preferred a middle draw, but I don't see any problems with that or the surface.
He's gained eight or 10 pounds since he left the quarantine station ... Since we found out he was going to race on a right-handed course, we breezed him a few times in that direction back home [at Finger Lakes], and every work has been better. Friday, he'll jog and gallop and stand in the gate, just to get him to relax. Saturday, he'll have a very light and easy day of training.
I've never teamed up with Tin Cup Chalice, but I've raced against him two or three times and have the impression that he's a very strong horse ... He was very relaxed this morning [Thursday] during his exercise, the dirt feels good, and he seems to have recovered from the long trip.
This is like a dream come true. My goal is to be the best I can be, and this is the place to do it.
