We played against the USA and Slovenia at home - we played well, we won, but when we have to play here in June it will be difficult. There are other groups that are stronger than ours but I remember when I was a player in Germany in 1974, sometimes you can think the group is easy and it will not be so
I think it's one of the more well-balanced groups ... We're going to have to be careful. All the games are difficult and we may start with the toughest game, since the United States will have a lot more time to prepare for the World Cup.
We have played against US and Slovenia recently at home, and played well and won but when we have to play here [South Africa] in June it will be different. Algeria beat Egypt and they are a good team. Every opponent will be strong because when you play in the World Cup, every game is not easy.

I think about the Africans. I saw the Ivory Coast and they are a very strong team – I saw them play against Germany
I spoke with David James but he needs time (to recover) after every game
This is a really good [Brazil] team, the strongest in the world now, very good technically, fast, but very strong physically too ... One on one, we will need to be very strong physically.
The style of this team is different to Spain ... It is the first time we have played against a team who was so physically strong, fast and technically good. Spain are really good technically. They play a lot of passes. But they are not as strong. Brazil defend very well.
If he is fit, he will probably be with us (in South Africa). But if I choose the players they have to be fit - he has to be fit
He has to be fit to be selected ... We spoke with him and he needs more time to be really fit. Every time he plays he cannot train for two days after a game.We thought it would be best for him to stay home and train rather than come to Qatar. If he is fit, he will be with us. Probably.
We spoke with David James. He needs more time after every game. He can't train for two days after each game. We preferred that he stayed at home.
I think we played against a Brazil team who have the best eleven in the world
I am happy that I checked the value of a few players for the future before I decide the last 23 for South Africa
It was important for me to see my players in a test like that. The outcome was really interesting and Brazil are clearly a very good side.
I learned a lot about Brazil. This is a really good team. the strongest in the world now ... I learned that we need to be 100 percent physically and really strong.
I learnt a lot today ... Brazil is a really good and strong team in the world. They are good technically and fast.... They are physically strong.
It is the same in Italy, Germany or England ... There is always a big respect for Brazil. They have won a lot of titles and they always play well. They have a different style and players with a big imagination. That’s why it is so important to play against Brazil. We can learn a lot from this match.

The plane we used is the one we used to go to Trinidad and Tobago and also to Kazakhstan
It is the same plane we used to fly to Trinidad and Kazakhstan.
I want to know more [about Bent] ... I want a good performance and the same goals he scores in the Premier League. I like his pace — he’s quick, he attacks the space, his movement without the ball, his ability in front of goal is good. He scores goals.
