All we had to do is put on a couple snaps of Frank Gore running the football, (tight end Vernon) Davis catching the football, and their defense attacking the way they attacked, and it gets you focused quickly, very, very quickly
Given the way the 49ers played Sunday, they will be a quick study on offense. They run Frank Gore up the middle behind a pulling guard, throw short to Gore and tight end Vernon Davis, and take the occasional shot downfield. Not much else.
Frank Gore, the epicenter of the offense, is not on the list, nor is cornerback Nate Clements. Shaun Hill, who as quarterback is ostensibly the face of the team, also is not a captain. Singletary picked the captains himself. They were not voted on by the team.
