Given what's happening in the league at the moment, Quebec deserves to reclaim its place. (NHL commissioner) Gary Bettman is sticking his thumb in his eye by continuing to ignore strong markets in Canada. I'm talking about Quebec, but you could say the same thing about Winnipeg or even Hamilton
Well, ultimately, the league knows that each team understands how important the Maple Leafs are to the game of hockey ... The Toronto Maple Leafs are important to every team as, there are still many fans of the team in every NHL city who buy tickets to watch this team play.

My hope is, either with the new ownership group or some other ownership form of the league or with another team, that Wayne will be back ... I have always been and always will be a big Wayne Gretzky fan.
The benefits of going to the Olympics when you're in Salt Lake City or Vancouver, to name two cities, are way different than if you're in Japan, Italy or Russia ... I'm not sure that type of exposure warrants or overcomes the difficulties.

It's very exciting to see hockey doing so well in Pittsburgh because some of what we dealt with this summer (with the Coyotes bankruptcy) is not dissimilar to what we dealt with in the past in places like Pittsburgh.

I don't think I finished the sentence before he said no ... The Winter Olympics are too dependant on hockey in terms of attention (and) ticket sales. We are from that standpoint perhaps their most important event.
