I was very humbled by the way our kids played. The biggest thing for us, we need to finish. There are two games left ... I understand how big a win this is. I've been here. I've beaten Oklahoma and gotten beat by SMU. We're going to finish, that's what we need to do.
We've beaten everybody in the Big 12 except Texas ... Nobody else is going to admit that.
We’ve lost three against Utah the last three years ... If that doesn’t bring you to your senses then I don’t know what will. We get a chance to play them at home, we’ve got a lot at stake, a conference championship, leading in the race, and we control our own destiny. Really, I haven’t had to say much.
We'd beat Texas eight out of 10 times. Maybe nine.
We understand that every ball game we have played against Utah has been very close
We want to be the U.S.C. of Texas ... We want to be the private school of Texas.
We want to be the U.S.C. of Texas ... We want to be the private school of Texas.
All that stuff is great for the fans, great for alumni, our students, faculty and everybody else. For us, we have to focus in on the people that wear the red and black (Utah) ... If we don't get it done, everybody will forget about it.
You love playing great competition. You like playing in big ballgames. That's really what you play for ... You get a chance to prove what kind of player you are and what kind of team that you have. Utah is one of those teams that always makes you step up to the plate.
We've already learned from Utah ... What it's done is helped us grow up.
It was a heartbreaker ... The Utah game is definitely one everybody remembers.
If we don't get it done, then everybody will forget about it ... My goal in the next three weeks is try not to break Fort Worth's heart.
We understand Utah is the kind of team that's going to come after you ... But this is the kind of game you want to be a part of. ... It gives you a chance to prove what kind of player you are -- what kind of team you are.
I saw an article that said I use Utah as an example all of the time, and that's the only team I can think about. [But] it's not because of revenge. ... In the 27 years that I have been an assistant or head coach, I've never been in a tougher locker room than the one I was in that night -- where kids wan...
I think players take the coaches' lead ... We're talking about things we need to. If you want to talk about something, why talk about Utah and BCS, talk about the three turnovers we had in the first quarter. We have got to find a way to win.
In no shape or form, nowhere along the line will I do anything that would discredit Boise State if both of us go undefeated ... I don't think that's how you do things.
Boise State's got a good football team
If we could win out and Boise could win out, you'd have two teams that are pretty good football teams, this might be one of those years that this might get done
