In my heart I know I’m good enough to be a center mid and Dom does, too
Dom and I had a meeting at the end of the year and he told me he wants me to play center back and that’s my position
Maybe this will fuel the fire for next season as one of those things you take on the chin ... I’m looking forward to next year. We have a great group of guys and are solid all around. And with some guys coming in, we’ll have an opportunity to make a run for it next year.
No one thought we were going to make it to the postseason ... We had a great last three or four months and turned the season around and played some really great ball towards the end.
He’s just quick. He’s fast. He’s clever ... I thought we did a pretty good job [on him]. A forward like that, you give him one opportunity, he puts it away. You shut him down all game and all of a sudden he gets an opportunity and puts the ball in the back of the net.
We're disappointed on the night ... We didn't play our best. We had some opportunities, especially in the second half when we started pinging the ball around. We had them pinned in their (defensive half). It's just one of those things.
It was an awkward thing ... I got up and I tried running around a little bit and it got really, really stiff, and I felt a little bit of weakness in it.
It felt weak and that was the only thing
With the caliber of players they have, it's going to be hard to stop them completely ... They're going to get their opportunities, just like we're going to get our opportunities. But it's minimizing their opportunities, and that's putting pressure on them, not letting them get a free look or hit the bal...
He's got some intangibles, like his athleticism and being a big guy in the back
It's a good balance because it allows Bobby to step up and I have to cover behind him, so it kind of goes back and forth ... But then again, you don't really want to go all the time, especially because they're a really good passing team, they can counterattack very quickly.
He's transitioned from a midfielder to a defender, so he definitely brings that foot skills that you're not used to seeing from a center back, which I think throws other teams off when the guy takes his runs in the middle. I think that gets a lot of attention, especially coming from the rest of people w...
If I don't, if I feel uncomfortable, I'll redo it
My superstition is I have to eat, wake up, shower at the exact same time ... A couple hours before the game I have everything laid out. It's very regimented. I'm very OCD when it comes to organizing, neat, cleats are a certain way, my cleats are washed and clean.
He wants the ball, and that’s one of the things you have to be worried about
They’re a really good passing team, they can counterattack very quickly
