View Photo »My shoulder has wear and tear like everyone else's, just more start-up pain for me
He's good -- we all knew that ... The key for him is knowing that he doesn't have to carry the team. We have a lot of guys at positions that can do more than other guys at their position. Just look at shortstop [Alexei Ramirez] and second base [Gordon Beckham]. We have a shortstop and second baseman tha...
There is a good feeling around camp ... We want to win and we feel like we can win. There's a confidence here and that's exciting, really exciting. We just need everybody to pull their own weight and do what they're capable of.
Alexei Ramirez is a better shortstop than Gordon Beckham.
You all write for a living, but I can't do it. It wasn't for me, although maybe down the road [I'll do it] again ... People want to know how Ozzie thinks, and I don't think it's too big of an issue. If he wants to do it, let him do it.
Hit .300, that's all I really want to do
I'm not too worried ... We just need to scrap, play hard and score more than the other team, and our pitchers are good enough to hold that lead. Just keep getting runs and give it over to our pitching staff.
From the beginning, I wanted to be a good player on the field and be the guy that people love to watch playing
During the season, my main focus is winning
Having played in the big leagues for four months last year, I don't feel like it will be too big of a transition ... I know where I'm going to be and the position I'll be playing, which will help me get ready.
Well, he still speaks a different language
We're talking 2-for-28 to start my big league career ... It doesn't get any worse than that. So, I'll be OK.
