In these file and university handout photos, the five finalists for the Walter Camp Football Foundation's player of the year award are shown. They are, from left, Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford, Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell, Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and Florida quarterback Tim Tebow.
In this Nov. 29, 2008 file photo, Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell (6) has his left fingers taped up during an NCAA college football game in Lubbock, Texas. Harrell was recovering Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, from surgery to repair nine breaks in two fingers of his non-throwing hand, but he won't miss any playing time.

I hearby designate Graham Harrell, Texas Tech as my First Choice to receive the Heisman Memorial Trophy awarded to the most outstanding college football player in the United States for 2008. To the best of my knowledge he conforms to the rules governing this vote.
If Graham Harrell doesn't get the Heisman Trophy, there should be an investigation ... He has set more records than anyone who has played college Football. I have watched college Football for a long time. He is the best passer I have ever seen. Not only that, he has the greatest patience with the Football of any quarterback I have ever watched in college or professional Football.
He hasn't told me that ... We're pretty much leaning toward coming out. But it's up to him. If he wants to come back and win championships, I won't be mad at him.
The negative is it's a sprained ankle, and we know what sprained ankles mean ... He will not do anything until later in the week.
