View Photo »If everybody came calling, this is where I'd want to be ... Iowa Hawkeyes, I couldn't turn it down. I believe in them. They say once a Hawkeye, always a Hawkeye. I'll always be a Hawkeye now. I'm just thrilled with this opportunity and what it presents.
Iowa was so over-matched that at one point the Hawkeyes had 6-foot-5 Eric May guard the 6-11 Mirkovic and 6-1 Cully Payne on 6-9 Davide Curletti.
Taking nothing away from the Cyclones or the Hawkeyes, but these teams have caught fire ... They've got a bolt of lightning.
This class has a high level of skill and tactical awareness ... They are excited to be Hawkeyes and are looking forward to the challenge of taking their game to the next level. All four freshmen will be competing for spots on the field immediately. I am confident they will help propel this team in 2010.
It's a big deal for the Hawkeyes to be out there, there's a lot of enthusiasm, and it's a big deal for Utah Valley ... They've got a team that's going to be fired up to wrestle the University of Iowa in their home state. It's a good thing. Sometimes you have to go on the road and promote a little bit. T...
Coach Long and Gary Barta have worked hard to rebuild Hawkeye swimming and diving, and we're excited to help ... Our son Jim was an All-American swimmer for the UI, and I know from my own experience as a Hawkeye football player how valuable participation in Iowa athletics can be for a student-athlete. W...
Hawkeyes are typically picked in that realm. We're used to that. The defense is going to be the difference, and I hope it's our defense that's the difference.
That might turn anybody here on, but I guarantee it does for the players in that locker room and our coaching staff because (the Hawkeyes are) feeling better about themselves right now ... If I was them we're a top-10 team and what a way to make a statement. So, I know Todd Lickliter well enough they're...
Michigan fails to get on the scoreboard against the talented Hawkeyes defense.
Hello, all you Hawkeyes! Is that what you guys are?
I believe I can compete very highly in the NFL ... I wish the Hawkeyes good luck. It's nothing against them. I'm going to miss them like crazy. I love them as my brothers, but I need to move on.
How about those Hawkeyes!
After squeaking by Arizona, Iowa heads to Happy Valley and pays the price for last year's upset at Kinnick Stadium. Penn State rolls the Hawkeyes by 20 points, giving Nittany Nation bragging rights on the Big Ten blog.
The Hawkeyes easily handle Northern Iowa in the opener.
The Hawkeyes pave the road in black and gold, the defensive line holds together and 'Stanzi is the Manzi' T-shirts are worn all across the state.
If we go out there and battle - get smacked in the mouth and smack somebody back in the mouth, then I'd bet on the Hawkeyes.
If we're going to pussyfoot out there and put our head on the mat, I tell you what, I wouldn't pick the Hawkeyes
I am a big fan. I just wanted to show the Hawkeyes I appreciated everything they have done to represent the state and I wanted to thank them
I have five children (four boys and a girl) and we watch every game on the Slingbox from Singapore ... The 13-hour time difference makes it quite a challenge, but we set the alarm and get up at 12 or 2 or 3 in the morning to watch our Hawkeyes.
