View Photo »It was really just a sense of, 'Yes, I could do this movie, but this guy's going to do a better job than me,' ... It's so much more in his wheelhouse than mine, and as tempted as I was to try something like that, I guess my instincts as a producer sort of took over, and I felt like the actors and what t...

It’s an issue ripe for discussion.
Canadian director Ivan Reitman
Ghostbusters II wasn't as much fun to make as the first one
Jason Reitman is the best thing Ivan Reitman ever produced.
But I never thought I was making a movie about job loss ... I always thought this was kind of a back drop to a bigger story about human connection.
I love my father and we have such a strong bond and I look up to him as a filmmaker and a storyteller ... So it was great and when I see the credits and it says produced by Ivan Reitman and Jason Reitman, my heart swells. It's really, really cool.
It's great to be the producer of this kind of movie and sort of share in its success and the goodwill that comes with it ... But as a parent it's kind of this remarkable emotional moment that's kind of hard to describe.

It definitely wasn't my idea

I hope to start shooting it this next year
We are working our way through another draft... good work is being done and all of us have our fingers crossed

They have delivered a draft ... We are working our way through another draft... good work is being done and all of us have our fingers crossed.
I’m not going to comment on what’s in the script and on what Sigourney may or may not have said ... She’s been so busy on Avatar, I’ve not been able to find her. There’s some very cool things in the new draft, let’s just put it that way.
I reached out to him ... I wanted him to be on board and I've had a good relationship with him, with (Thank You for Smoking's) Christopher Buckley, with Diablo Cody (on Juno) and now with (current screenwriting collaborators) Jenny Lumet and Joyce Maynard.
