View Photo »I don't think guys were selfish. Obviously we encourage people to take shots when they think they have 'em ... Maybe coach can elaborate on it if that's what he saw. I didn't see it that way.
Chris Bosh is having a career year. Andrea Bargnani is a much improved big man. They’re getting excellent point guard play from Jose Calderon and Jarrett Jack and their team depth is very good. The defense was lousy early in the season, but has come around. They’re paying the price with the ‘D’ and it’s...
Just don't try to read too much into it
They have three key guys starting [Turkoglu, Jarrett Jack and DeMar DeRozan] who weren’t on their team last year. It takes time. But they have a silver bullet in Bosh. They have a team that will get better as the season goes on.
I think that's coach going with the flow ... I've heard him say before that he's going to go with whoever he thinks is playing best and that's just the way it's been going.
Athletic as [they are], they can finish at the rim ... I think if we can limit our turnovers we can give ourselves a chance.
I was more concerned about Chris than the game
My rookie year was playing every night, your head was spinning almost ... I really wasn't used to that, wasn't used to the travel. It was like, ‘Man, we've got a game today, game today, game today. Different time zone today, we're gone for 10, 11 days at a time.' It was just a wild experience.
We dug ourselves into a hole in the first half and just weren't about to get out of it
Give it to LeBron and move
Guys like him and Kobe, I don't know if you can limit them
I think if you can turn LeBron into a perimeter player that's always a plus
It happens ... We were just careless with the ball.
We didn't do a good job of taking care of the ball early ... It helped them establish the lead they had a halftime. It's tough to recover when you give the other team an extra possession.
We didn’t do a good job of taking care of the ball early and it helped them establish the lead they had at halftime
We can’t go through those long droughts where we don’t score, or turn the ball over, or not play well on defence ... All of those things help trigger our offence. If we’re not doing any of those things we’re going to have a rough night.
We can't let games like this slip away, especially on our home court. We have to take advantage of that ... We made some big stops on defense, it seemed to get contagious and our offense came right back and made some big shots.
We know how desperately we need these wins coming down the stretch, making this final push at the end of the season, especially the ones at home ... They're very crucial, they're very vital to how things are going to play out in the standings. We can't let these opportunities slip through our fingers.
Most people look to Chris as being our interior defensive guy ... I thought Andrea, the last two ballgames, has done a great job of being that physical presence we need down low.
It got to the point in college that I used to do it so much that an assistant coach would make me practise it ... He said, 'Well, if you're going to do it, we'll drill it and make sure you get really good at it instead of you improvising in mid-air.' So I was trying to get practice shots where I'm shoot...
I think energy wise, they bring something that we don't really have ... They create a lot of havoc defensively being that both of them can pick up full court [on a press] and give us a lift. On the defensive end, that can kind of spawn some easier baskets.
I think it's very important to get into our sets early so we can exercise just about every option we have on each play ... Most NBA teams do a good job defending the first and maybe the second option but if you're able to get to that third or fourth option, that's where defences break down and open look...
I think we just know how desperately we need to win these games going down the stretch, making the final push to the end of the season ... We can't let these opportunities slip out of our fingers.
We started the game taking good shots and taking care of the basketball ... It got away from us in the third quarter, but we kept our cool.
We were just talking right before the break ... He was saying how this is the first time before the all-star break that he hasn't missed a game. I guess we spoke to soon. We should have kept it to ourselves. I'm sure he'll be doing the necessary things to get himself back and ready to play as soon as po...
