I am pretty satisfied with the way the senior players responded in the big match against India. It was obvious they are acting on the advice I gave them during the camp
I still remember and feel about those early days when I was totally new to international cricket. I learnt each day in the company of Imran Khan and Javed Miandad. They were there to help me and I felt great in their company.
Both the teams in my book are equally balanced. While India has a stronger batting line up despite the absence of Yuvraj Singh Pakistan has a much better and more penetrative bowling attack
My advice to the team is to take every match as it comes. Don't think about the whole tournament. The focus should be on the happening game. No use worrying about how we will do against India while planning and playing against the West Indies
I am confident you will see an improved and more confident Pakistan batting performance in the Champions Trophy
The idea is to get the batsmen to play on surfaces similar to those in South Africa. Cricket is all in the mind and if a player is mentally focused, he can succeed anywhere
A 50-overs match means you have to be on the field for atleast seven hours and the way I am training these players it is tailor made to prepare them for the conditions in South Africa
