View Photo »We're trying to get him to keep his hands more in the middle of his body as opposed to taking them behind him ... He's gotten into a little bit of a habit of carrying them behind his body too far. That affects his lead arm getting on the target and staying there long enough.
It was just something that [pitching coach Jeff Jones] suggested -- just to slow my delivery down ... My biggest problem has been my tempo, getting out too quick and leaving pitches up in the zone. So we tried going over the head to slow everything down, and I think it helped me be able to locate my off...
I thought he threw the ball well
I don’t, no. But I’m sure Jonesy (pitching coach Jeff Jones) will iron it out. He’s sick today, too, by the way: Scherzer. He’s going home. I don’t know if he had some of that going on the other day, or not ... I’m not looking to make excuses, but he may have been under the weather a little bit that day...

Some guys don't like it ... Some guys do. That was Rick's delivery in high school, so he's comfortable with it.
I heard Jonesy (pitching coach Jeff Jones) say, 'Good job,' after the second inning
He's a phenomenal pitcher ... Anybody who can do that, it's so unusual. The one thing he has done the last couple of years is he saves a little bit and he's got some left at the end of the game. In his first two or three years he'd come out and throw his fastball basically as hard as he could.
Usually, his biggest problem is that his delivery gets a little quick
We tried to make that adjustment to slow his tempo down ... He gets a little bit quick. We tried it when he did his between-starts throwing in the bullpen in New York last weekend, and he felt great with it.
I did an Internet search and stumbled on the story from 1914 and it reminded me so strongly of the three Weather Underground members who were killed in 1970 when their bomb went off prematurely in their New York apartment

He's one of the most generous persons I've ever met ... Generous with his time, generous with his skills and very patient with people like me. He's definitely made me a better musician and a better producer of music.

One of the reasons the band gets along so well
is if they start speaking about me in Italian, I always ask them, ‘What are you talking about?' And their reply always is, ‘Just how great you are.'
I think if he had it to do over again, he'd do it differently
I think once he got the opportunity to pitch the ninth, he tried to dial it up a little bit, and it just threw him a little bit off-kilter
Express Test methods not only offer researchers working in scientific and industrial settings unprecedented speed, but also remarkable versatility and ease of use
I want to see many college students come, both Christians and non-Christians ... I hope it will be an opportunity to help people understand each other better and to be educated about how we communicate with each other.
