View Photo »We are fighting to make sure that Michigan is diversifying its economy and educating our citizens and protecting people along the way
This budget not only has the wrong priorities, it is a fiscal house of cards that relies on one-time revenue from the stimulus money from President Obama and the federal government ... That is revenue that cannot be sustaining into the future.
I will use my veto pen to shape this budget to protect the things that are most important to Michigan families
The budget the Legislature has passed failed to do all of these essential things ... That’s why I will continue to fight for the right budget for Michigan.
I am determined to use my power to give the people of Michigan a fiscally sound budget with the right priorities -- diversifying our economy to create jobs, educating our citizens and protecting those who are at risk
Those are dangerous cuts for Michigan, and those are the cuts I will not support
