View Photo »We have to respect Harvard ... because they’re good enough to beat a lot of teams.
A lot of coaches have been able to take good programs and even really good programs and keep them at that level or make them a little better, but Jim Calhoun has done something at Connecticut that I really don't think anybody has ever done anyplace else.
Cornell is picked to win the Ivy League ... But after seeing Harvard on tape, they’re going to have to go a ways to be better than Harvard.
I was going to do an internship with like (Michigan State coach) Tom Izzo or (Connecticut coach) Jim Calhoun in the summer. I'll be looking for a college coaching job.
Cornell is picked to win the Ivy League ... But after seeing Harvard on tape, they’re going to have to go a ways to be better than Harvard.
They’re playing exceptionally well for Tommy ... He’s done a great job of getting a different kind of Ivy League team — better athletes, they can do a lot of things.
We have to respect that Harvard is good enough to beat an awful lot of teams
It's a big game for us, particularly because we have Kentucky and then finals ... We have a couple of big events coming up.
I wasn't shocked by Harvard beating Rice, but Rice is a pretty good team ... To win by 20 is pretty impressive by them.
Tommy is one of my favorite people and he's doing a great job of getting a different kind of Ivy League team
We're going to have to stick with it because sometimes the ball doesn't go in as much as it did tonight ... I'm trying to get us better so we can hopefully play well on Sunday and go into the last game of the semester against Kentucky on Wednesday.
He's fierce but has a Hollywood smile ... You sense he's happy with his lot in life.
This will give us a look at Big East-type basketball, NCAA-type basketball
This was the first time this particular group had a real big-time gut check ... We did not want to be in Charlotte or some place next week playing two teams. We wanted to be in Madison Square Garden. That was our goal and I thought we fought like hell to get there.
This was the first time this particular group had a real big-time gut check ... I'm proud of the way we fought back. We did not want to be in Charlotte or some place next week playing two teams (in the tourney consolation rounds). We wanted to be in Madison Square Garden. That was our goal and I thought...
This Connecticut team has got to start playing like a Connecticut team ... Forget the shooting. Forget every other thing. It's got to get tougher. It's got to get more aggressive.
Mike Tyson has a great saying: ‘You don’t know how tough you are until someone punches you in the face,’ ... We certainly didn’t get punched in the face tonight, but we had someone finally stand up to us, and we didn’t react very well. I’m incredibly disappointed.
Against Michigan State we needed someone to go off ... A.J. didn't go off, Stanley didn't go off, Kemba didn't go off, and that's where we needed Jerome.
We need [Okwandu] to play ... I was watching Syracuse the other night. They have big guys inside that we couldn't handle right now. We're going to play a lot of teams like that. Duke is enormous. They're not as fast as they've been, but they're bigÖWe're going to need a good, solid inside rotation.
Last year, when we were 21-1 with Jerome, I said that he can just go off at anytime ... In the Michigan State game, we needed someone to go off. Since A.J. [Price] didn't, since Stanley [Robinson] didn't, we needed someone else to go off like Jerome who has the ability to do that, especially in big mome...
There was a feeling of accomplishment last year, as [the NCAA] West regional champions ... but also a little disappointment that maybe we didn't get the whole thing.
There were years where we got beat up and two years later we were beating up ... It takes awhile sometimes but teams in your league reaching the Final Four is motivation for other teams. A league this tough prepares you for the NCAA tournament and that is how everybody is judged, postseason play.
I really thought our team and Louisville were the best teams in our league last season ... I think in a three-game series both our team and Louisville would have beaten Michigan State.
