View Photo »The best track remaining for us would be Phoenix
I was one of those like many others from the outside looking in, looking at Jimmie Johnson making it look easy, thinking he was a lucky guy that drove for a great race team
Phoenix is the best track remaining for me … it is one where I think I can win. I had a fast car in the spring
Every week, we're right there, we're contending ... The 48 (Jimmie Johnson) makes it look easy on Cup side, we make it look easy on the Nationwide side. ... It's an accomplishment.
When Tony Stewart was lapping me in the fall race, I was able to fall in behind him and follow him for a long portion of that run ... Being behind him in race conditions, I just focused on his line and throttle application, what was going on.
Hey, congratulations are in order for Jamie McMurray ... Ironically, his No. 26 Ford is sponsored by Crown Royal, which is exactly what we’ll be doing to Jimmie Johnson in three weeks.
Chandra and I were big fans of the ‘24/7’ series with Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather, and that’s kind of how this all came about
Last week a guy said to me that Jimmie Johnson is really lucky
It seems to me ... that these so-called 'debris' cautions are just NASCAR's sneaky way of making a boring race just as boring, except with more crashes. But debris cautions, phantom or not, don't matter. It's become apparent that no matter whom I face, whether it be 42 other drivers, NASCAR inspectors, ...
And I knew how to beat them. I look at today's racers and I know I can beat the crap out of a guy like Jeff Gordon, the Busch brothers, and Jimmie Johnson. Those guys don't stand a chance against me at all!
The No. 48 Chevrolet was strong all day
How do I know the Chase is practically over? ... Here’s why: the only feud we’re discussing is not one involving Jimmie Johnson. It’s the Juan Montoya-Bob Griese feud. I think it was wise for Griese to apologize; I think it would be even wiser if Taco Bell started an ad campaign featuring Montoya and Gr...

but I still find myself trailing Jimmie Johnson. I may be over the ‘hill,’ yet I still can’t seem to get over the ‘hump.’
The surf doesn't really make it into Charlotte
If I had Jeff Gordon’s or Jimmie Johnson’s success there, then I would be comfortable going there. I just haven’t had any success there yet
Kansas is still a bit of a mystery ... As we’ve gone through everything, it still kind of boils down to track position, I guess, and the fact that we took four and everybody else took two. … I have a hard time believing that was all of it because I started [the race] 11th, worked my way up through there...
As a victim of mechanical issues in a previous race ... I can definitely relate to what Mark Martin and Juan Montoya are going through. That same accident on the street would have simply resulted in an exchange of insurance numbers. On a NASCAR track, it resulted in the downfall of Jimmie Johnson's two ...
Maybe it was the dirty air ... Or it could have been the dirty looks I was getting from NASCAR slowing the No. 48 Chevrolet.
Sure, it looks like Jimmie Johnson has the Cup wrapped up
I am hopeful that its helpful for us to have a track in the Chase that we are able to win at … being California ... I think the season comes to us in a way. I know that we perform well in the Chase but I think the schedule is helpful for the No. 48 car. We have great results and it gives us a lot of hop...
I hope Montoya knows that it wasn’t my fault ... If he wants a scapegoat, he need look no further than Jeff Gordon. He’s the slow poke that’s responsible for my ‘slow poke.’ Juan’s a first-timer in the Chase. He’ll learn that not everything works in your favor, unless you’re Jimmie Johnson. In ten races...
I certainly hope that our performance (Sunday) scares some people and affects them in a way that benefits us ... We'll keep our heads down, keep our blinders on and we'll go to work for next Sunday's race at Kansas Speedway.
We're not talking about Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin ... We're not talking about how many races we've won [11] this year. We're talking about the 88 car.
Mark is an amazing driver with a great race team ... We're going to have to do what we can. There is no free lunch in this sport, especially racing Mark Martin.
