Everybody rooted for the Yankees, especially in East Utica because of Joe DiMaggio and Yogi Berra
but they were all close. Could have gone either way. We lost the first game, 1-0, the second one, 2-1 [when Joe DiMaggio homered off Roberts in the 10th inning], the third one, 3-2, and the last one, 5-2.
I like the tradition of it. I had a picture with Yogi Berra and Joe DiMaggio together. My favorites were Don Mattingly, Wade Boggs and Paul O’Neil. The simplicity of baseball is what everyone likes. My love was watching it on television and going out and playing.
