I just wanted to him to be an example for the younger guys ... I thought he could still play, but I had no idea how much. I did know that, whatever he had left, he was going to give it all being back in Detroit. If there was one team that was going to get his maximum, it was Detroit.

Oh... What a great move by Joe Dumars bringing in Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva but, can they play defense?
It's been the best situation since I got here ... Joe Dumars (president of basketball operations), the coaching staff, the training staff, some of the players are here from last year. I didn't want to go somewhere and get a new start. This has been a winning environment.
It was a fabulous workout ... I do understand why Joe Dumars picked him second in that draft.
