Do you think the Yankees still prefer Joe Girardi to Joe Torre?
If (Joe) Torre had had exactly the kind of season Girardi did, even with all the injuries, (Yankees boss) Hank Steinbrenner would not only have fired him, he would have wanted to call back the next day and do it again.
I'm also worried that Joe Girardi doesn't have what it takes to manage in New York. Nor am I convinced that moving Joba Chamberlain to the rotation was the wisest move.
well Joe Torre is going to the playoffs, I don’t like how they let him go, Torre vs. Girardi, yadda yadda.
This last game, they didn’t want to lose ... It was a must-win and gave bettors a bit more incentive to play them. Now, (manager Joe) Girardi is trying to work the young kids in and there’s not much there to play for.
I'm the last guy on a visiting club who's managed in a game here ... How ... did that happen? I was telling [Joe] Girardi, 'When you were in Pittsville in 1988 in the Eastern League as a catcher and I was managing, did you ever think you and I would be standing here managing the last game?' He said, 'Boy, that's something, isn't it.' You never know. But I can tell you one thing, there isn't anybody that appreciates this more than I do. Nobody.
