I know Joe Mauer is a great hitter, but Mo is more experienced in that situation ... That's why I didn't [hesitate]. He has been doing it since 1996. When I saw him burst on the scene, I was behind home plate. I just thought it was time to go to Mo.

It's a tremendous honour ... I'm really humbled by it. There's a lot of great players in the AL and the big leagues. It's hard to describe. But I wish (the award came) after a World Series win.
I think this will happen when it needs to happen, and I think it will work itself out ... Can we win (in Minnesota)? Yes, I think so. And that’s ultimately what I would like to do.
