I doubt that Vazquez would go to Colorado, but some sort of Vazquez and Kelly Johnson for Huston Street and Brad Hawpe deal could be interesting, all four of those players are only signed through 2010, although Hawpe has a 2011 option for $9.5M net.
I think a Kelly Johnson for Delmon Young would benefit both the players and clubs. Both have shown flashes of promise, but have been too inconsistent.
Manager Bobby Cox brought up the idea Monday that second baseman Martin Prado could move to right field if the Braves decide they want to give Kelly Johnson another shot at second base.
When one guy’s struggling and the other guy steps in and does what [Prado] has done, you have to be proud of him and excited for him ... At the same time, you’re talking about a Kelly Johnson; he’s got to regroup and come back fighting again. That’s part of how you make each other better. ... Hopefully ...
