Is this one of those ridiculous reality shows like Ken Burns’s Jazz? Disgusting.
Obviously the greatest closer of all-time, who is obviously one of the greatest pitchers that's ever pitched ... He's also one of the great heroes of the game in terms of being such an extraordinary human being — and I hate saying this. I'm a Red Sox fan.
He has changed the way that documentaries are created [in US television]. There's the era before Ken Burns and after. His subjects are also quintessentially American and I think he will develop a whole new following here in the UK.
I don't think there's a baseball fan who wasn't moved today watching him nearly break down in front of reporters ... For a person who's very controlled, this is devastating in every possible angle. He needed to go out not limping. This is a proud, proud human being.
It was interesting to me that Ken Burns, who is such an icon in American television, is relatively unknown here
I think he understands the job of president is part fundraiser, part leader, part educator and part friend ... I think Jonathan has been an extraordinary listener.

It's just a hell of a great story ... Americans like apocalyptic tales, and this is a home-grown apocalypse. It's not `2012' with John Cusack jumping across fissures in the earth. These are real live people, people you might have had Thanksgiving dinner with.
You can’t possibly cover the entire four-year war over the course of five days, but you can certainly gain a rich understanding of many of its key themes ... In particular, when you have Ken Burns, Harold Holzer and others sharing their insights and perspectives, and when you’re enjoying exclusive acces...

Perhaps the biggest tragedy is that it was preventable
