We wouldn’t have movie musicals this day if it wasn’t for Michael Jackson
We had completed all of the show as it would have been staged at London's O2
Awards, Oscars, that's all great wishful thinking
It also came from my background of loving Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and being a huge fan of all of his short film work
It was not planned ... wanted to take a few deep breaths and relax before I resurface…None of this [Michael Jackson and This Is It] was happening when I started working on Footloose with Paramount. I honestly love the team I was working with on it…It had been a wonderful couple of years developing the i...
What we did here was focus on telling a good story and creating a film for the fans really enabling them to understand what Michael Jackson had dreamed for them
Everyone in a Michael Jackson show is an extension of Michael Jackson
Michael stood out in front of the stage with me and looked at the rehearsal and said, 'This is the dream. This is the dream, good Kenny. You did it,' ... I think there was this feeling in the room, in the air — we all could feel like you were on the plane, you were packed. We were going. You could see L...
This is sacred documentation of Michael Jackson's last theatrical endeavor

So he was really out there and invested, and far from retiring. ... All of those projects, Michael had invited me to be his partner on. I was l...
We know the fans are going to come -- the question is, are people that weren't necessarily diehard Michael Jackson fans going to come? ... If so, I would hope the film would have some legs and a reason to stay there.
Michael stood out in front of the stage that night with me and looked up at the rehearsal and said, 'This is the dream. We did it good, Kenny, we did it. Very good.' There was this anticipation of tomorrow, this anticipation of London and this great feeling about what we'd accomplished over the past cou...
We created a screening for her at Sony… Columbia, which is (the same lot as) the old MGM, which is where she used to have a contract
He was excited, looking forward to (it), happy, pleased with what we had accomplished up until that moment and looking forward to finishing up the rehearsals in Los Angeles and moving on to London
