I don't know, it's kind of a puzzle to me ... I just don't get the whole thing. It looks like when you look at the pictures, it could have bothered him, but I should have seen it and the rider (Kent Desormeaux) didn't feel it. 
At the half-mile pole (jockey Kent Desormeaux) hadn't asked Big Brown to go. I was expecting him to go by us between the half-mile and three-eighths pole. I was surprised when I didn't see that happen. I knew something was wrong with Big Brown. After Big Brown, the Belmont was a wide-open race. Anyone could have won it, and that's what happened in the end.
He found a new gear and just kept sticking his neck out. I knew he was going to get there. At the top of the stretch that horse (Coal Play) took off, but Big Brown took off after him. ... Today, he showed he's a warrior.
His reputation was on the line today ... He's a top horse. It was little more than I was expecting _ he really struggled out there to run this horse down but Zito's horse ran great.
I thought we had a helluva shot turning for home. I thought to myself `we could do this again.' I am very happy right now. We made him run, that's for sure. Big Brown looked great in the paddock and when he broke. But down the backside I got excited. Coal Play ran a big race.
I was concerned at the 3-8ths pole and it looked like we were beat turning for home ... But he got down on his belly and he won, though.
