View Photo »We’re feeling good going into the break ... The most important thing is that we come back ready to play after the All-Star break. We need to enjoy the break but come back with that mind set ready to fight through these last 30 games.
Russell Westbrook had a great night ... He has been playing great for us lately, and he runs our offense. His play sets up Kevin Durant and the rest of the team. He flirted with a quadruple-double, and that didn't surprise me because he is capable of putting up numbers like that.
Everybody knows it's coming; he's been flirting with triple-doubles all season ... A quadruple-double doesn't come around very often. He did a great job of initiating the offense, getting his steals and making easy baskets. We followed his lead tonight. He does a great job of filling up the stat sheet.
Even the so-called elite programs are fragile now because when you lose players to the NBA, you’re relying on young players to replace them. And for every Kevin Durant or Michael Beasley, there’s 10 guys that don’t measure up.
I don't understand why people think about that
Even the so-called elite programs are fragile now because when you lose players to the NBA, you're relying on young players to replace them, and for every Kevin Durant or Michael Beasley, there's 10 guys that don't measure up.
If it doesn't happen, maybe they forgot or whatever ... I don't know. I don't know, maybe they got some other things going on.
If it wasn’t for Kevin Durant (the University of Texas star who now plays for the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder), Wesley would arguably have been Freshman of the Year in the Big 12
You gotta win. That's all it takes. We'll see ... Just gotta keep working.
When he came to our practice, he told each of us to not get complacent ... The Thunder already have Kevin Durant and Jeff Green. They're looking for people who are making the extra pass, hustling to get a rebound, and playing solid defense.
'When he's playing defense, he wants to cut your throat.' He said, `That's where I want to get to.'
They've got so many jumpers where they can go small and get rebounds still. So, that's an advantage for them ... Keep the lane spread open while Kevin Durant, Westbrook and Green just attack the rim with no big. That's just what they did to try to keep Brendan out of the game.
He was physical, he played hard. He never smiled on the court, never talked to anybody
We did a good job of getting baskets and getting stops when we needed to ... We have to have that focus in the fourth where we execute on both ends.
That's how you win games is getting stops and then worrying about the other end once you get down there
We knew that they're a good team and they're a team that's fighting for home-court advantage even in the playoffs, and they're going to make runs but we've just got to come back and play our game
We made plays. Russell did a great job of getting everyone into the sets and finding us good shots. They're a tough team
It was one of my better games but I'm greedy. I like to make every shot ... I left a couple short if I had left my hand up longer maybe they would have gone in, but I'm happy with the win. We just have to stay humble, keep working hard and good things will happen.
Yes, this was one of my better games, but I'm greedy ... I like to make every shot, but I know it can't go that way.
That's their strength. It's tough to take away their strength and what they do best ... I thought we did a great job of adjusting to it and got stops when we needed to in that third quarter and we also scored the ball in transition as well. It was a good win for us.
We knew (Denver) had great post presences. We just wanted to make it tough on them, make those guys see four or five guys in the lane and make them kick it out for a contested three ... We still got to work on doing that, but I think we did a decent job tonight.
I got ten text messages in probably like two minutes or so
It felt good, man. It shows that I've worked hard and it's just the beginning, I guess ... It's motivation for me to keep working harder and try to maintain or even get better on the all-star level. I know my work is cut out for me.
We don't want to turn it into four
I really don't focus on becoming one of the elite players in this league ... I just focus on helping my team and being one of the better players on my team to help us win.
