We could be sitting here with a (full-salary cap) team with guys like Kimmo Timonen and Tomas Vokoun
Jones, who we have signed, [Braydon] Coburn and [Kimmo] Timonen all had [at least 31 points] last year. So those are basically our offensive guys. We think our defense is better.
This isn't a veteran team that was just put together to try and win it. This is a group that's going to grow together, even including guys like Kimmo Timonen and Scottie Hartnell. This is their first experience going this far. That's the good news for us, we're going forward. They'll get better and then you make the adjustments.
Kimmo's an elite player in the league ... He's not just a great player, he's one of our leaders.
There's lots of guys in our lineup right now that are playing through stuff ... Obviously, he's playing through a lot here, and he can't wait to get back and play.
It's different in that it's an unusual injury ... In Kimmo's case, it's been killing him not to be able to play. But I just think he had to get to the point where the doctors told him he's beyond any risk of long-term injury and putting himself at risk of something severe. There's some discomfort, and there's some pain. He still has some issues. But in terms of medical danger, he's by that.
