View Photo »That's the thing that I'll be most proud of when my career's over ... I was a part of turning two organizations around. Getting two teams to the Super Bowl that nobody ever expected to get there when I showed up.
I’ve seen each end of it, the starting quarterback side and then the side when you’re on the street for a while ... It’s just a matter of staying confident in yourself and knowing this happens sometimes. Look at Kurt Warner and Jake Delhomme and guys that have been on the streets, Jeff Garcia coming fro...
I think the thing is now we are putting full games together so much better than we did early ... There were still some games early that I felt I played as well as I've ever played. It just seemed like it was for a half. First half in Seattle. Down in Jacksonville. Now, I think what's great about it is w...
When you have a high-powered offense that likes to spread the ball around, the key comes to not letting the quarterback have time to find the open receivers or to check to his second, third or fourth option ... It becomes especially important when you face a quarterback like Kurt Warner.
Whatever. It is what it is. We've been there before. You go to the Super Bowl you have a little national spotlight on you ... But it's one game and we've been there before where everybody jumps on, and then we don't do what we're supposed to do and everybody jumps off. Who really cares about that stuff?...
You just have to understand that's the nature of the game, that you're going to get bounced around ... I've got a good mentor in Jeff Garcia, and he started off in Canada, so he always gives me feedback. It's all about perseverance. You look at Kurt Warner, when he got his shot, and Jake Delhomme and a ...
I hope the fans appreciated a couple of those matchups, particularly the Super Bowl matchup. It was a great football game
Kurt Warner was not playing, and we had a little bit of confidence, and our defense was playing well ... It might have been a little different if their starting quarterback was in there. There was plenty of time we left, we had a whole quarter, and we didn't want to take any chances (of not scoring).
A lot of people look at the score and thought, 'Man, New Orleans killed them,' ... I go and watch the film and they (the Giants) were in position to make a lot of plays. I think it is a little bit deceiving.
Kurt Warner was not playing ... so we had a little bit of confidence, and that's nothing against their backup quarterback. But it might have been different if they had their starting quarterback in there.
When you go see teams in the NFL now, you see a lot more short, quick, speed screens -- different things like that in the passing game that I don't think were a big part of the NFL in the past
We've got a division game, a rival ... High-powered offensive attack with a great quarterback in Kurt Warner. I know the fans are going to be happy to see him. Every time he comes back, he gets a warm reception.
We came back feeling like we missed an opportunity when we lost the Super Bowl in St. Louis ... We pushed too hard to be perfect. And when you do that, you don't play very well. I think that's the same thing we're dealing with, trying so hard to live up to expectations.
All quarterbacks have games like that from time-to-time, all offenses go through things like that from time-to-time. But Kurt is a Hall of Fame quarterback ... He played in the Super Bowl last year. He has done everything you can ask a quarterback to do in this league. All of our players know who Kurt W...
Coming off a Super Bowl, it's easy to put pressure on yourself like, 'Well, man, we got all the way there and we didn't do it. Now, this year we have to do it,' ... You start putting too much pressure on yourself and you start wanting to be too perfect instead of just relaxing and playing the game. That...
Kurt Warner is having a real good year ... He is throwing the ball very well. All four receivers are involved. The tight end is involved. The backs - Tim Hightower is the third-leading receiver. They have excellent distribution. The numbers are spread around real good.
The one thing that we talked about last year, even before we made the Super Bowl run, was we weren't consistent all year ... We'd beat one team and lose to another. It was just back and forth. We finally got consistent there through the playoffs and into the Super Bowl, but we haven't sustained that.
