Go back and think about any 10-race stretch we had this year, Kyle Busch and those guys they stood above the crowd there's no question, but one race where they don't do that, one race in any of the 10 it's on ... It's all about being hot now. It's all about getting it done now. 
It seems like everybody has closed the gap on the No. 18 (Kyle Busch) ... Obviously, they've been running really good every week, but it seems like the No. 99 (Carl Edwards) has been running really good as well. I feel like we've closed the gap. We've got a little bit more work to do to get to where we need to be.
To win this Chase, you're going to have to fight for wins every week, and every pit stop is going to count, because you're going to have at least (Kyle Busch) and (Carl Edwards) to have to deal with, and I would expect a few others to have their stuff in order
I feel bad, I let my pit crew down ... We're getting that close. If it's not (Kyle Busch) beating our pants, it's Johnson.
I think the fact that (JGR's Kyle Busch) and (Roush's Carl Edwards) have been stronger than us makes me fall more into the thoughts and the ways that I've won the championships in the past
A real smart racer explained it to me this way after he wrecked me and I was real mad. He said, 'I just had to look at your rear bumper and decide if you would do this to me, and you had, and so it was a real simple decision ... I'd do it again.
We'll go on and we'll race him that way in the Chase if that's the way he wants to race.
The reason he hasn't won is just because we haven't had our cars fast enough, but he's been close
We still just haven't got the chemistry between he and the crew chief and the team that we rebuilt to be where it's at its absolute best, but they're very close to being able to do the deal ... If we could just win a race and get that behind us, I think everybody would be a little bit more relaxed.
That's the way it's been, predominantly, a lot of the time ... I think they kind of skip over me. I like that because it's less pressure for me. We just do the best we can, stay under the radar, I guess, and see what we can do.
