We're in a league that's designed to knock you down when you're good ... You get the last pick in the draft, you might lose a player in the expansion draft. The way the salary cap works a lot of guys probably had bonuses this year that will kick in next year that will make the cap number higher.
Landon Donovan is a tremendous player, and he’s done great, great things for U.S. soccer over the years
People – justifiably so – see Robbie as a goal scorer, but he’s a great soccer player ... I remember the first day he got out here, watching him pass the ball I was really impressed and I realized what a good passer he was. The pass he gave me for the goal was fantastic, absolutely world class.
Ten years from now we need to have at least 50 Landon Donovan-caliber American players in the league ... We also need to have multiple players better than Donovan competing in MLS. With a country of 300 million-plus people, you would hope that could happen.

The atmosphere was fantastic tonight
We never gave up. That was our mantra all season
The way David has played through some pretty serious injuries the last few weeks, it inspired me
This has been a long year, a trying year
I didn’t care who scored, I didn’t care if it was an own goal or how the ball went in ... I just wanted that ball to go in.
It’s a sense of elation [to win the championship]
I wasn’t aware even that we were making a sub ... Bruce is so good an analyzing the game and trying to figure out what we need and it paid off. When I [play up top], my sole purpose is to be as aggressive as possible to make good runs.
For the last two months, we’ve just been so determined
I for the last month have been, like the rest of these guys, so determined to win ... I didn’t care who scored, I didn’t care if it was an own goal, I didn’t care how the ball went in — I just wanted it to go in. I mean that wholeheartedly. Winning feels so good. The goals come and go, but the moment wh...
Give Houston a lot of credit. They made the game very difficult
He pulled his hamstring earlier in the week and was basically playing on one leg tonight ... He put in a warrior-like effort and I'm real honored to play next to him.
This guy keeps us going ... Bruce is on us constantly, but he keeps us going.
To be honest, the actual goal doesn't mean a lot to me
