I was embarrassed for everybody watching the game, everybody in the stands. That's not how we're supposed to play Tennessee football
I thought for the most part we came through healthy ... Everyone was out here moving around. Some guys were a little banged up but everybody was able to practice. We probably took guys out (of the Memphis game) a little earlier than we normally would with the stretch run coming up and the game being in ...
We know they're going to come to play, I'd imagine (this is) their biggest game of the season for them with a bunch of Tennessee kids on their roster
It was good to see from one standpoint, especially the pass rush ... Chris Walker was back out there today, full speed. Our front four rushed really well today, so hopefully that will carry over to the game. As an offense, we need to get better in our pass protection.
I'm sure we'll get one of those letters that really means nothing, as Bobby (Petrino) got last week. Meanwhile, Florida and Alabama live on
Brent has not played on defense for us very much at all lately after the Ohio game ... It's time to give him a shot again. He played well on special teams for us on Saturday.
I thought I had a very good relationship with Tom Cable. I think he is a great coach ... It's unbelievable the way he teaches offensive line. We use a lot of his technique stuff and drill here, and it's helped us improve the running game here. He is a great technician as an offensive line coach.
I would have been disappointed in David or Eddie Gran, who came from Auburn, or Lance Thompson, who came from Alabama, if they didn't compete to see if kids were sure about their decision. That's recruiting ... I can't imagine doing it another way when you come in your first year and hiring coaches, tha...
I’m not gonna get into it. I’m excited about this matchup versus South Carolina. As hard as it is for me to do, I’m not gonna do that. I’d love to
I'm sure we'll get one of those letters that really means nothing as Bobby got last week, but Florida and Alabama live on
I'm really proud of how hard our players played ... I don't believe in moral victories. We should have won that game. We've got to go back, get better and prepare for a really good team next week [South Carolina].
I thought it would be something that Tennessee and Alabama fans would enjoy as a tribute to the great history of the game
I don’t know all the Tennessee history and tradition, nor do I intend to. I know there are a lot of great teams in this conference.
I think one poll got it right ... If you watch football and pay attention, I don't think there's any doubt who the No. 1 team is. Alabama has a great team - very well-coached, extremely talented, great special teams, great on offense, great on defense.
I think one poll got it right ... If you watch football and pay attention, I don't think there's any doubt who the No. 1 team is. I think it was very evident when you look at the two teams playing Arkansas.
Alabama has a great team -- very well-coached, extremely talented, great special teams, great on offense, great on defense ... I love the style that they play with. I think they play extremely physical. They play in your face. They come downhill at you. That's what we'e going to be someday. I like every...
In talking with some people in the offseason about the history here and both teams wearing the home jersey, I thought it would be something that would be really neat for our fans and for their fans ... We were approved by the SEC, and Alabama denied us that.
I think it's a smart move by athletic directors at major programs ... We invest all kinds of money into our facilities and stadiums. What better way to invest to get money back than in your staff? Look in your own backyard. You guys paid Nick Holt a lot, and I bet as you guys were beating USC and holdin...
I can’t remember winning the turnover margin since the first game of the year [against Western Kentucky]
I told the guys last night, I don't know all the Tennessee history or tradition of all the matchups ... There are a lot of great teams in this conference. But I told them, to me, this is the biggest matchup.
Gerald ... did have a small issue on the sidelines (against Ohio), which is something that he's learned from, and something that he has expressed that he's apologetic for ... He had a good week last week, and he had a good day today, and he's continued to improve.
I'm gonna turn Florida in right here in front of you
You know looking at the rankings this week, I’m very surprised that this opponent’s not in the Top 25 ... Two weeks ago at the time we played the most explosive offense in college football (in Florida), and here we go again with one of the top three.
We're a long way from being a championship team ... But half the NCAA lost today, so it's good to get a win. Maybe we can get it to 4-2 by the bye week (Oct. 17).
